Private client
A client contacted us as she was arranging a serve on behalf of her son who lives in Australia; she had a very tight deadline as she need to take the proof of service with her when she went to visit her son in 7 days’ time. She was unsure of the procedure and we talked it through with her, listened to the specifics of her case and agreed a strategy. On the day of service we attended at the provided address at the agreed time and personally served the subject. Once service was complete the client was immediately informed and an Affidavit of Service was provided which she could submit to Court to prove that the papers had been served and she was also able to take a copy to her son in Australia.
Overseas Client
An email query was received overnight from the USA needing a Claim Form served in Sussex. We advised the client on the process, confirmed that the serve would be in line with the Hague Convention guidelines and the documents for service were emailed over. We attended at the provided address but the subject was no longer at the property; same day desk-based trace searches located a current residential address for the subject which we attended that evening and personally served the documents. Once the documents were served we provided the client with notarised proof of service.
Urgent Solicitor job
A phone call was received on a Thursday afternoon at 2pm requesting that we attend at the RCJ to collect documents for service and then immediately travel to Kent to serve the documents ensuring that they were served prior to 5pm. Without delay we attended the Court to collect the documents and returned to our office to make copies (to use for the evidence of service) before travelling to Kent to serve the documents. The papers were served at 4.30pm and the Affidavit of Service was completed and delivered to our client by 9am the Friday morning.
